More Tips for Choosing Your Paint Colors
Still overwhelmed by too many choices? Here are a few more tips for choosing the best paint colors for your home.
-
Don’t choose your paint color first
One of the best tips I can give you is don’t choose your paint color first, decide on your decor and style of the room first. Having different colors of furniture and different lighting can affect the color differently, so first decide on an overall palette for your room and then consider the undertones and reflections.
-
Think about color psychology
Color psychology is so important for choosing a room color. Think about how you want the room to feel. Cozy and calming? Exciting and fun? Really narrowing down these feelings you want to capture can be the key to choosing the overall color palette and paint color for a specific room.

-
Be open to pops of color
A neutral base color is always a solid choice, but be open to adding some colorful accents in your room. This can be done through furniture and decor but also through painting your cabinets a fun color. If you want to get really fun with using color, I love doing a color drenched room!
-
Do a test paint
Painting a little bit of the wall before finalizing your decision can help you see how the lighting in said room will affect the paint color. Again, you have to consider lighting and undertones, so when you have a good idea of your paint color in mind, do a test paint!
