Welcome to our Maison De Bleu Reno project, a stunning home located in Carthage Texas.
Starting with the foyer of the home. This was one of the most important parts on this renovation because there was no welcoming entry point before. The lighting felt off, and the flooring didn’t create a seamless and cohesive look.

To fix this issue we wanted a point of entry and “beginning” by adding a herringbone pattern that was framed off. We also added a chandelier, removed the awkward light in the corner and added a vignette with a table, art and sconces.

Invoking a feeling of serenity and focusing around a custom cast stone fireplace, a welcoming family room features a custom sofa, daybed, and pattern chairs to fill this large living space.

We removed the tiled fireplace from before and designed a custom cast stone fireplace to match The European aesthetic we were trying to portray throughout the home. We also brought the firebox down to remove the hearth to create a custom inlay that floated with the wood floor to create a seamless, custom look.

The existing kitchen lacked visual balance and a clear focal point, so the design was reoriented around a custom range, establishing a strong central axis upon entry. This focal element was intentionally scaled to balance the adjacent refrigerator, creating symmetry and cohesion within the space.

Another custom element we added in the kitchen was concealed pantry doors. These doors also lead to a main entry point of the home—the mudroom—which is accessed through the garage. To create a smooth entry for the homeowners, we added a type of hinge called a “Harmon Hinge.” This allows the doors to fold inward into a pocket, creating a cased opening for easy access while also providing a beautiful, seamless look.

Upon entering the hidden pantry doors, you will be flooded with a moody color drenched mudroom that offers several concealed cabinets for storage of backpacks, purses and any other things you want to drop off from your busy day.
The before of this mudroom lacked space, efficiency, and an overall statement to welcome you into one of the main entry points of the home.

Off to the side of the kitchen, you are drawn into the dining area, which leads to the office just beyond. I love this space because it is flooded with natural light, which we enhanced by adding ivory, unlined window treatments. These unlined treatments provide a bit of privacy without blocking the beautiful natural light from flowing in.
Upon walking past the dining area, you can slide open these custom glass doors to enter a light-filled office, with custom linen curtains enveloping the bay windows
The original office lacked visual balance and didn’t flow with the style of the rest of the home. Replacing the blue barn doors with custom 8-lite sliding doors completely transformed the space. We also added concealed hinges, called “Houdini Hinges,” to the sliding doors. They provide the functionality of a barn door without the bulky hardware.
The last room of this renovation is the powder room. The client loves blue so we incorporated blue as much as we could throughout this home and as soon as we saw this blue wallpaper we knew it was the perfect fit for the powder.
As you can see in the before, we removed the built in vanity and added a pedestal sink with a custom Bianco Venatino marble top. We also flowed the engineered hardwood that we used throughout the home in here to create a seamless look. The vanity lights also got replaced and we added these beautiful sconces from Hudson Valley Lighting.
